The Dutch traded Africans in exchange for food and services in 1619. Are you or are you not ashamed of this as a Dutchman and do you feel responsible in some way?

I'm not really ashamed, there were other countries who tarded slaves. Also I don't feel responsible, it's so long ago, what could I have done about it?

I do not feel responsible in any way for what happened back then. I also do not feel ashamed. We did not treat the africans like we should but we changed a lot through the years. back in that time a big part of our economy was based on slavery and we earned a lot of money because of that so i can understand very well why the dutch did that in the past.

I don't feel responsible for those actions. It happened like, 100 years ago, and I did not do such thing myself. I am not really proud of that part of our national history, because I think slavery was/is a horrible thing.

We don't feel responsible because we obviously didn't participate in slavery. Slavery was normal in 1619 (that doesn't change the fact that it was horrible); but you can't blame the slave owners/traders too much, because in that time era, we would probably do the same.

I do not feel responsible for what we did in 1619, because we did it to survive. We didn't really use the slaves for something bad we only exchanged them for life goods. But I also think that we could have found another way because I think it is really wrong to do something like torture people to do things for you you can do easily by yourself.

I think it is so horrible what they did to other people. The humanity in that time was like level zero. But i don't feel responsible for it, otherwise the German population should always feel terrible about the Second World War and the damage they made. I think people and generations change, we can't be responsible for what happend in 1619. We all learned from it. At least i hope so.

I don't feel responsible for it, because at first it was years ago. I wasn't there, so they can't blame me for it. I don't have to feel responsible for things other people did also when the're dutch.

I don't feel responsible for what happened so many years ago. I do feel ashamed that people can be so horrible to each other. I hope that we think about the fact that there is in fact slavery in this century.
